Is ByHeart lactose free?Updated 6 months ago
No, our primary carbohydrate is lactose, which we chose intentionally, as breast milk’s primary carbohydrate is also lactose! Research shows that the majority of infants are able to tolerate and digest lactose (lactose intolerance is actually extremely rare in babies!), and therefore lactose-free formulas are not necessarily beneficial for most babies. Lactose-free formulas often include corn syrup solids or maltodextrin, which we left out of our formula. Basically: we don’t want to see corn syrup in our own food, and certainly not in our baby’s!
